Grainwork Contractors
How do I start my first project?
The founding pilot is set up with help from Grainwork. Request a walkthrough and tell us the bathroom or shower work you need to price and your region. We confirm whether it fits and arrange workspace and project access before you pay. Then use the agreed Google account to sign in.
If an email button does not open, send your request to [email protected] from your usual email service.
I signed in, but cannot open or start a project.
Check that you used the Google account agreed during setup. If access or your project is still missing, email support with that account email and the project name, if you have one. We will check the setup. Creating another account or paying again will not restore access.
What does the founding pilot include?
The offer is $39 for one supported bathroom or shower project, with three priced estimate or change-order runs in total. There is no monthly minimum, automatic renewal, or automatic additional purchase. We confirm the work and inclusions before payment. Existing paid arrangements retain their agreed terms.
My web payment has not appeared.
Return to the same job and use Check again if it is shown. A return from checkout alone does not confirm the payment. If it remains unresolved, email support with your Grainwork account email, project name, approximate payment time, and Stripe receipt reference if available. Do not pay again to recover a payment, and do not send card details or passwords.
I used my runs, or need a refund.
Your saved estimates, evidence, and work record remain available when paid estimating ends. Email support to agree the next step. If Grainwork fails to deliver an estimate or priced change, the attempt does not use an included run. Canceling before analysis starts returns the run; canceling after analysis starts uses it. A returned run is part of your estimating allowance, not a payment refund. Repeated failures may need a support review before another attempt. If a job needs more work than the pilot supports, we review it with you before any further payment.
For a refund request, include your account email, project name, and receipt reference if available. A full refund stops further estimating under that purchase and preserves your existing work. Contractor web purchases are separate from homeowner-app Bid Check credits.
Grainwork Professionals
How do I open my workspace or an invitation?
Use the workspace or invitation link shared with you and the account it was intended for. An invitation for one person or workspace does not grant access to another. If the link has expired, the account is wrong, or the workspace is still being prepared, contact the person who invited you or Grainwork support.
Include your account email, the workspace name, and the message you see. Do not forward private invitation links, passwords, or client records. Homeowner-app store credits do not unlock a Professionals workspace.
Homeowner app: getting started
How do I get an estimate?
Open Grainwork, take a photo or record a video of the problem, and describe what you noticed. Include the surrounding area so the repair has some context. Grainwork will estimate the work and its approximate cost. Repair estimates in the homeowner app are free; the contractor workspace has its own offer above.
Do I need an account?
You can use the homeowner app without signing in. Signing in with Apple or Google saves your estimates across devices and keeps your home's history together. Contractor and Professionals workspaces require the access arranged for your account.
Homeowner app: Bid Check purchases
What does Bid Check do?
If a contractor has given you a written quote, Grainwork can compare it with the estimate from your walkthrough, show where the numbers or scope differ, and give you focused questions to ask. It is an independent comparison, not a local-market verdict. We do not sell leads and we do not refer you to contractors.
How do purchases work?
The quote-to-estimate comparison is free. The full line-by-line breakdown, conversation guide, and report use consumable Bid Check credits bought through the Apple App Store on Apple devices or Google Play on Android. Payment is handled by the store you use; your card details are never shared with us.
How do I recover unused credits?
Bid Check credits are consumable in-app purchases, not permanent store entitlements with a generic Restore Purchases action. If you reinstall Grainwork or switch devices, sign in to the same Grainwork account you used when you bought the credits. Your unused credit balance is kept with that Grainwork account and should appear after it syncs.
Using the same Apple or Google store account by itself does not move credits between different Grainwork accounts. If a completed purchase is missing, do not buy it again just to recover it. Email [email protected] with the Grainwork sign-in email, whether you used the Apple App Store or Google Play, the approximate purchase date and time, and the store transaction or order ID if available.
Homeowner app: data and privacy
What happens to my videos and photos?
They are used to generate your estimate and may help Grainwork calibrate its pricing over time. If you delete your account, your uploaded media, extracted frames, saved results, and account-linked analysis and review material are permanently removed. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account or data?
You can delete your account directly in the app, under Settings → Delete account. Anonymous users will see Delete my data. That removes your account or anonymous session data, saved estimates and Bid Checks, profile details, saved documents, unused Grainwork credits, uploaded media, and account-linked analysis and review material.
Do not have the app? Use our dedicated account and data deletion page to send a request. We normally complete verified email requests within 30 days.
Homeowner app: troubleshooting
- The app could not build an estimate.Check the message shown in the app. If it needs more detail, try a well-lit photo or a steady video that shows the problem and surrounding area. If it reports a connection or service problem, try again later. Contact us if the problem continues.
- My estimate seems off.Grainwork estimates what it can see, so hidden damage or missing details can change the cost. Add your ZIP code and describe what you noticed as you film. Ask a contractor to confirm the scope and price on site.
- A purchase did not go through.Check your network connection and the purchase history for the Apple App Store or Google Play account you used. If the store shows a completed purchase but the credits do not appear in the same Grainwork account, do not purchase again; email us with the details listed above.
