Save your own labor and material rates in your rate book. Grainwork uses them when it prices the job.

Labeled Vendor quote or Your chosen supplier price
These labels appear only on prices you or your supplier provided: a quote from your supplier, or a supplier price you chose for this job. Grainwork doesn’t pull live prices from suppliers.

Everything else
Labeled AI estimate, Public wage data or Reference allowance
Any other price is labeled so you can check it or replace it with your own: an AI estimate is Grainwork’s own figure, and a reference allowance comes from a supplier’s public listing. Public wage data is an hourly wage for your area from U.S. Labor Department data, plus an overhead markup it shows you, not a quote from local contractors.
What photos can’t tell you. Photos don’t show hidden conditions or exact measurements. Check the scope and quantities on site before you send the estimate.
Your first job
Three steps to your first estimate.

Email us about the job.
Tap “Email us about a job.” Your email app opens a short draft that asks what the work is and which city it’s in. We reply, confirm the job fits and set up your access.

Add what you have.
Sign in with a Google account (a free Gmail account works) and add the photos, measurements and notes from the job. Grainwork drafts the scope, quantities and cost lines.

Check it and send it.
Set your rates, fix anything that’s off, and send the estimate. If the work changes, price the change order in the same job.

Are the material prices real supplier quotes?
Only when you or your supplier provide them. Grainwork doesn’t pull live prices from suppliers. Every other price is labeled so you can check it or replace it with your own.
What kinds of jobs does it handle?
We’ve built and tested it most on bathroom and shower remodels. Other repair and remodel work is drafted too, with any line outside our checked lists labeled AI estimate for you to check. Tell us the job and we’ll confirm it fits before you start.
What if Grainwork can’t produce an estimate?
During the pilot, estimates aren’t counted. Once payments open, a try that fails doesn’t count toward a job’s three.
How do I pay?
There’s nothing to pay during the pilot. Once payments open, we’ll tell you how to pay the $39 for a job. Nothing is charged until you choose to pay.
What happens after my three estimates?
During the pilot, estimates aren’t counted. Once payments open, each job is $39 with up to three priced estimates or change orders. If a job needs more than three, email us and we’ll agree on the next step before anything is charged. Nothing renews and nothing is charged on its own.
What if I want a refund?
Email us and we’ll review the job and the payment with you.
